For Study Volunteers

Study Volunteers

Community can be defined globally as the public outside the academic research environment as well as specifically as sectors within the community that affect health status, health care and modifiable risk factors — the places where people live, work, study and play. Stakeholders, include employers, schools, public health agencies, places of worship, restaurants, supermarkets, barber shops, urban planners, social services, the media and lawmakers. We view community as metropolitan Richmond, home to Virginia Commonwealth University, but also as populations outside of our city that can benefit from our research.

At VCU, we consider our Research Volunteers to be our most important asset and want you to always feel well informed and welcome to seek information from our research teams. This section of our website is dedicated to our Research Volunteers to help you fully understand the importance and processes involved as a research participant and our commitment to you.
